In Almost 40 Years, I’ve Never Had…
I’ve been eating smoked fish for a long time…this is by far the best I’ve ever tasted. And I didn’t stop at the
smoked sable, salmon or sturgeon.
Though I’ve never had a sit down meal, the clerks in the deli are wonderful! Patient, helpful and always happy to allow you to sample the fare. If you enjoy this type of menu, I’m certain Sable’s will satisfy your palate!

Upper Eastsiders say this “hole-in-the-wall” emporium “rivals any in the city” for the “freshest, tastiest” salmon, caviar and other “top-notch” noshes, including “dynamite lobster salad”; the “friendly” staff of Zabar’s alums is “always ready” to “seduce you” with a “free sample”, so smoked-fish fanciers find little “reason to venture” across the park.
